By metro
The Planetarium is only one block away from the Bonaventure metro station (Line 2-Orange). Inside the station, follow the signs towards rue De la Cathédrale exit. Once outside, walk downhill to rue Saint-Jacques. The Planetarium will be on your right. (Neighbourhood Map STM website)
By bus
The Planetarium is served by STM bus routes 36 Monk (on rue Saint-Jacques going East, on rue Saint-Antoine going West) and 107 Verdun (on rue Peel).
The Planetarium is also one block away from Terminus Centre Ville, the downtown bus terminal for many suburban bus lines serving the Montréal South Shore.
By commuter train
The Planetarium is only a few minutes' walk from Gare Centrale (Montréal / Deux-Montagnes and Montréal / Mont-Saint-Hilaire) and from Gare Lucien-L'Allier (Montréal / Dorion-Rigaud, Montréal / Blainville and Montréal / Delson). (Commuter Trains AMT website)
By road
Locate the Planetarium on Google Maps!
Arriving from the East end, via boulevard Ville-Marie (rue Notre-Dame):
- Follow directions for Tunnel Ville-Marie (Autoroute 720 westbound).
- Once in the tunnel, keep right.
- Where the tunnel branches off, take the right branch ("Pont Champlain, etc.") and stay in the right lane.
- Follow the indications for "University/Mansfield" until you exit the tunnel (a long, 180-degree right-hand turn).
- As you exit the tunnel, go straight ahead at the first traffic lights (rue Saint-Jacques).
- Turn left at the second traffic lights (rue Saint-Antoine).
- Turn left again at the next traffic lights (rue De la Cathédrale one way street).
- The Planetarium will appear on your right as you reach the next cross street (rue Saint-Jacques).
- A metered parking lot is located behind the Planetarium building, entrance further down on De la Cathédrale. Parking meters can also be found on neighbouring streets.
Arriving from South Shore, via Champlain Bridge:
- From Highway 132 (Autoroutes 15 and 20) or Autoroute 10 westbound, follow directions for "Montréal/Pont Champlain."
- On Champlain Bridge, keep right.
- At the end of the bridge, take Autoroute Bonaventure towards Centre-Ville/Downtown.
- Take exit #1 (Wellington/Notre-Dame).
- At the bottom of the off-ramp, at the traffic lights, turn left on Wellington and drive under the expressway.
- Continue on Wellington and turn right on Peel (2nd traffic lights).
- The Planetarium is a few blocks further down, between Notre-Dame/Peel/Saint-Jacques/De la Cathédrale.
- To reach the metered parking lot located behind the Planetarium building, turn right on Saint-Jacques (one-way) and right again on De la Cathédrale (one-way). Parking meters can also be found on neighbouring streets.
Arriving from North (Autoroute Décarie) or West (Autoroute 20, or Autoroute 40 via Décarie) :
- Follow directions for Autoroute Ville-Marie (Autoroute 720 eastbound), towards "Centre-Ville".
- Exit at "Saint-Jacques/Université/de la Montagne"; this exit is located at the very beginning of Tunnel Ville-Marie.
- The exit lane forks off: take the LEFT branch (Saint-Antoine/Saint-Jacques).
- As you emerge from the tunnel, turn RIGHT towards Saint-Jacques.
- At the traffic lights, turn LEFT on Saint-Jacques (one-way).
- The Planetarium is located at 1000, rue Saint-Jacques Ouest, corner of Peel (next traffic lights).
- Continue on to the next cross-street and turn right on De la Cathédrale (one-way) to reach the metered parking lot located behind the Planetarium building. Parking meters can also be found on neighbouring streets.
